TODAY!  Arts & Humanities special “in house” raffle drawing.  The drawing will take place this morning at 9:00 am. This drawing is for everyone that contributed to the “End of the Year” Raffle baskets.  This year we had a FANTASTIC amount of support.  A HUGE “thank you” to everyone that gave items or $$.   The “15” lucky winners will be announced and hopefully pictures to accompany.

$1 Raffle Tickets are available now for the 11 baskets that A&H put together, plus other baskets that are being donated by other offices.  See me (Janis), if you are interested in purchasing tickets.  The drawing for these baskets will be on June 1.

Bezango poster TOMORROW! “Bezango, WA” screeningThursday, May 26.  4-6 p.m. in N201.  Admission Free, but space is limitedPlease RSVP to reserve your spot. Workshops NewsTalk with AnaWednesdays, 4:30-6:00 in D204 from April 13 – June 8 NewsTalk is a weekly workshop series for ELL students where they can learn different reading skills like paraphrasing and finding the main idea.  Together, we practice applying these skills to our news stories in dynamic activities.  Students can develop their speaking skills by contributing to the discussions as they share their thoughts and reactions to each story with the group.  We encourage faculty to let ELL students know about NewsTalk.

FRIENDLY REMINDER

Scent free zone poster In Response to health concerns, Arts & Humanities has developed a Scent-Free Policy.  Scented products such as hairspray, perfume, and deodorant can trigger reactions such as respiratory distress and headaches.  Instructors, students, staff and visitors are asked to not use these products when visiting the A&H officeArts & Humanities at Bellevue College is a Scent-free environment.  Remember, what seems  like a light application to you can bring on a  situation where someone is put into serious distress.  Please be mindful.  The biggest culprit is “perfume.”  Please read more.
