Creating Islands of Sanity, laptop computer with view of ocean beachFRIENDLY REMINDER
In response to health concerns, Arts & Humanities has developed a Scent-Free Policy.  Scented products such as hairspray, perfume and deodorant can trigger reactions such as respiratory distress and headaches.  Instructors, students, staff and visitors are asked to not use these products when visiting the A&H office.  Arts & Humanities at Bellevue College is a Scent-free environment.  Remember, what seems like a light application to you can bring on a situation where someone is put into serious distress.  Please be mindful.  The biggest culprit is “perfume.”  Please read more.

 ⇒ SPECIAL MENTION ⇐
A&H English Instructor, Hyesu Park,  recently had her article “Joy of Ugly Feelings: Korean “Bad Taste” Webtoons as a Case Study” published in Studies in Twentieth & Twenty-First Century Literature.  STTCL is a peer reviewed academic journal housed in Kansas State University.

Dance Magazine A&H Dance Instructor, Laura Peterson, is pictured in the 90th anniversary issue of Dance MagazineLaura is pictured presenting at the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS) conference that took place a few years ago.  It was Laura’s second time presenting at this particular conference.  IADMS is the actual visionary and Laura is found to be the face of it!  She has been a member of IADMS since 2007. Laura was very surprised and honored to be in the 90th Anniversary Dance Magazine and to be considered a visionary and influential.

Important MessageATTENTION FACULTY!

♦ Do you frequently merge two or more sections of the same class in Canvas?  The WA Attorney General’s office recently ruled that many Canvas section merges are not FERPA compliant As a result, BC will limit merges to those sections of a class that must be taught together (for example, SPAN 221/222/223).
