{"id":2149,"date":"2017-01-31T09:03:00","date_gmt":"2017-01-31T17:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/commons.bellevuecollege.edu\/artsandhumanities\/?page_id=2149"},"modified":"2017-01-31T09:33:02","modified_gmt":"2017-01-31T17:33:02","slug":"uwundergradsym","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/commons.bellevuecollege.edu\/artsandhumanities\/uwundergradsym\/","title":{"rendered":"UW Undergraduate Research Symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/\/commons.bellevuecollege.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/50\/2017\/01\/UW_Undergraduate-Research_Symposium.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2152\" src=\"\/\/commons.bellevuecollege.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/50\/2017\/01\/UW_Undergraduate-Research_Symposium-194x300.png\" alt=\"Symposium Flyer\" width=\"209\" height=\"317\" \/><\/a><strong><span style=\"color: #1f52b8\">From Michael Reese<\/span>:<\/strong> It\u2019s that time of year again.\u00a0 The University of Washington has once again invited BC students to present at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/undergradresearch\/symposium\/\">UW Undergraduate Research Symposium<\/a>. \u00a0This symposium is the single largest presentation of undergraduate research in the Western US.\u00a0 Participating is a great learning experience\u2014and is a very impressive item on a student\u2019s resume or CV.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submitting an abstract and applying to present at the Symposium is <strong><span style=\"color: #008000\">Monday, February 13.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0Students may present individually or in teams; they also have a choice of presenting a poster or giving a talk. \u00a0A full timeline of the process appears <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/undergradresearch\/symposium\/timeline\/\">here<\/a>, and additional resources for students and their faculty mentors may be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/undergradresearch\/symposium\/\">here<\/a>. \u00a0<strong>Students and faculty interested in participating in the symposium should contact me,\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"mailto:michael.reese@bellevuecollege.edu\"><u><strong>Michael Reese<\/strong>.<\/u><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I have the\u00a0codes that allow BC students and faculty <a href=\"\/\/commons.bellevuecollege.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/50\/2017\/01\/UWsymposiumsignage.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2156 alignright\" src=\"\/\/commons.bellevuecollege.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/50\/2017\/01\/UWsymposiumsignage-300x200.png\" alt=\"Symposium signage\" width=\"253\" height=\"172\" \/><\/a>mentors to access the UW\u2019s EXPO system, which is used to submit abstracts.\u00a0\u00a0Bellevue College\u00a0may have as many as ten teams of BC students present;
