\"Syllabus<\/a>It is highly encouraged for Instructors to have their syllabi available for public viewing via CANVAS.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>
\nIn order for CANVAS<\/span><\/strong> syllabi to function on the A\/H syllabi web site, Instructors will need to do the following:<\/p>\n

\u2022 In CANVAS<\/span><\/strong>, on your class site, looking at the left menu<\/span><\/strong>, make sure the syllabus option is visible.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Mark the syllabus \u201cpublic<\/strong><\/span>\u201d located in the settings section <\/span><\/strong>(down at the bottom)<\/span><\/span>.

Making Syllabi public<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Go into settings (located at the bottom on the left-hand menu).<\/li>\n
  2. scroll down to \u201cVisibility<\/strong>,\u201d<\/span> make sure the word \u201ccourse<\/strong><\/span>\u201d is in the box.<\/li>\n
  3. Right beneath the Visibility box \u2013\u00a0check\u00a0 \u201cCustomize<\/strong><\/span>,\u201d<\/li>\n
  4. the word \u201csyllabus<\/strong><\/span>\u201d should be showing,<\/li>\n
  5. make sure the word \u201cpublic<\/strong><\/span>\u201d is displayed<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u2022 After marking the syllabus “public<\/span><\/strong>,” go back to the syllabus page and copy the URL address and paste into a Request Center ticket under Arts & Humanities under the web posting option.. \u00a0You may e-mail \u00a0the link directly to Janis Juarez. \u00a0For all\u00a0ELI and Dev Ed<\/span> syllabi please send\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong>to Seda Markarova<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Positive things about this new option:<\/strong>
    \n\u2022 This is a way for syllabi to be more consistent throughout the division and campus.
    \n\u2022 Changes are easily made on the CANVAS<\/span> <\/strong>site, not having to submit revised, additional syllabi documents.<\/p>\n

    \u2022 Transparency – Students will get a glimpse of expected workload. \u00a0Is very helpful in the decision process of what classes to take in any given quarter.
    \n\u2022 Syllabi will be available to the public for future use.
    \n\u2022 gives an efficient method for the college to track syllabi information.
    \n\u2022 Reduces the amount of documents stored in the WordPress site.<\/p>\n

    *\u00a0A&H started this practice<\/strong>\u00a0for syllabi spring quarter 2015<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0. The goal is to phase this method in for fall quarter 2015 with at least 80% participation. \u00a0The ELI Department<\/span> <\/strong>deserves special recognition\u00a0for they\u00a0have met and exceeded all expectations with our goal.<\/p>\n
