\"Seattle\u2666<\/span>\u00a0<\/a>Congratulations to Jono Vaughan<\/span><\/strong>, Art Department faculty member, who is a finalist for the Seattle Art Museum\u2019s 2017 Betty Bowen Award<\/a>!\u00a0 More than 500 artists living in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho applied for this prestigious award; the winner will be announced later this month.\u00a0 Jono\u2019s <\/span><\/strong>ongoing series, Project 42<\/em><\/span>, raises awareness about the extreme violence against trans people by commemorating 42 transgender individuals who have been murdered.<\/p>\n

\"Important<\/a>ATTENTION FACULTY!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2666 Do you frequently merge<\/strong> two or more sections of the same class in Canvas?<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 The WA Attorney General\u2019s office recently ruled that many Canvas section merges are not FERPA compliant<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span> As a result, BC will limit merges to those sections of a class that must<\/strong><\/em> be taught together (for example, SPAN 221\/222\/223). You can find more information at the Bellevue College eLEARNING web site.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Swim<\/a>Honoring Suzy’s Memory<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2666<\/span> Francois Lepeintre<\/span>, is honoring Suzy’s memory and raising money for cancer by participating in the Seattle Open Water Swim<\/a>.\u00a0 Donations are welcome.<\/p>\n

\"Charity<\/a>\u201cTHANK YOU\u201d from Camp Kesem<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2666<\/span>The donations to Camp Kesem<\/a> from the faculty and staff from A&H this past June helped\u00a0send 122 children to camp and provide them with year-long support.\u00a0 Arts & Humanities received a big \u201cThank you\u201d from the bottom of the Camp Kesem<\/a> Coordinators\u2019 hearts. The two week Camp just came to an end that was full of fun activities including: Messy Olympics, camp fires, arts & crafts, gaga ball, archery, fun-yaks, talent shows and more.\u00a0 Thank you to everyone that contributed!!\u00a0 Arts & Humanities contributed approximately $325.00.<\/p>\n

\"bench<\/a>\u2666 September 13, 2017<\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 A&H Retreat<\/strong> <\/span>|\u00a0 Mercer Island Community Center<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 Breakfast will be available starting at 8:30.\u00a0 The program will begin promptly at 9 am.<\/p>\n
