So much has happened in that year, and we still have a ways to go before we reach our new normal.&nbsp;&nbsp;I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas about what that will look like over the coming months.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help keep information at your fingertips, below is the quarterly list of faculty resources. Be sure to work with your dean about any things that may be specific to your Division or Program.&nbsp;&nbsp;If there is other information you would like to see on a \u201cstart of the quarter\u201d list like this, please let me know. Spring Quarter Calendar<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spring&nbsp;quarter runs from Thursday,&nbsp;April 8&nbsp;through&nbsp;Friday,&nbsp;June 25&nbsp;(June 21&nbsp;is the last day of instruction&nbsp;and June 22 is Student Success Day). Finals are scheduled for&nbsp;June 23-25, and grades are due&nbsp;Monday,&nbsp;June 28. The following are non-instructional days:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>April 22 (Th) \u2013 College Issue Day&nbsp;<\/li><li>May 31 (M) \u2013 Memorial Day&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/studentcentral\/calendar\/#tab_custom-tab-0-38855d01858be8a7521685381848d319\">(The full Spring academic calendar with all dates and deadlines can be found here.)<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Late Registration&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration&nbsp;continues to be open for the first three days of the quarter.\u202f\u202fThis means students may still join your class (if it is not already full) through&nbsp;Monday,&nbsp;April 12.\u202f\u202fWe are making every effort to assure that anyone who registers by&nbsp;Monday&nbsp;are in Canvas by&nbsp;the end of the next day.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The waitlist, however, will no longer place students into classes that are already full once classes start on Day 1.\u202fInstructor permission (via the&nbsp;online late registration form) will be required throughout the week to \u201cover enroll\u201d these \u201cfull\u201d classes or add a student from the waitlist, and can also be used to add students on Thursday and Friday in classes that are already full.&nbsp;Faculty&nbsp;can approve (or decline) by replying by&nbsp;email&nbsp;to a student\u2019s request and cc\u2019ing that&nbsp;email&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:enrollment@bellevuecollege.edu\">enrollment@bellevuecollege.edu<\/a>.\u202fEnrollment Services staff will begin processing approvals as soon as they are received.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While\u202fyou&nbsp;can&nbsp;approve admission of students through 3PM&nbsp;Wednesday,&nbsp;April 14, please think carefully about whether approving late registration is in the best interest of the student. Depending on volume of approved requests, it is possible that students approved later in the week may not have Canvas&nbsp;access&nbsp;until&nbsp;the&nbsp;second&nbsp;week of the quarter.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the event there is an extenuating circumstance that requires a student to be re-enrolled after Wednesday,&nbsp;April 14, please work with your dean. They will need to approve these registration requests and should only do so for extenuating circumstances.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Early Alert for Academic Support Program&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bellevue College\u2019s\u202fEarly Alert for Academic Support\u202fProgram\u202fis a systematic program designed to identify and support students at risk of attrition in order to improve student success, retention,&nbsp;and persistence, while closing equity gaps.\u202f&nbsp;The Early Alert&nbsp;for Academic Support&nbsp;Program (EAP)&nbsp;at Bellevue College\u202fis specifically focused on a student\u2019s academic performance in a class.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there are students for which you have an academic concern we encourage you to submit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/reportconcerns\/\">Early Alert for Academic Support&nbsp;form&nbsp;<\/a>on the Report Concerns page using the following criteria: never attended&nbsp;class,&nbsp;low&nbsp;performance on tests,&nbsp;missed&nbsp;assignments,&nbsp;missed&nbsp;classes\/stopped logging in to CANVAS. The following is the timeline for Early Alert:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><u>Week 1<\/u><\/strong>: Instructors actively reach out to via Canvas and\/or BC Email to students who have not attended their class. If students are still not attending&nbsp;<strong>AFTER<\/strong>&nbsp;the&nbsp;<strong>5th&nbsp;day<\/strong>&nbsp;of the quarter instructors should submit an Early Alert for students.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong><u>Week 2-4*:<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;Instructors submit Early Alert for students who are missing classes\/stopped logging in to Canvas, students with missing assignments, and for students with low performance on testing.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*After Week 5 the Early Alert form will be turned&nbsp;<strong>OFF<\/strong>&nbsp;(specifically, the form will be turned OFF the Sunday following 5th&nbsp;week at 11:59pm). If you teach a late start class and have an academic concern for a student once the Early Alert form is turned off, please email&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:melissae.martinez@bellevuecollege.edu\">Melissa Martinez<\/a>&nbsp;directly with the student\u2019s name, SID, course name\/number and issue of concern.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there is&nbsp;<strong>a\u202fconcern regarding the behavior\u202fof<\/strong>&nbsp;a student, a\u202fCARE report\u202fshould be submitted via the Report Concerns page.\u202fA new Early Alert for Academic Support website is coming soon! Stay Tuned!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. COVID-19 Information and Coming to Campus<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Information on COVID-19 and campus guidelines on Safe Return to Campus procedures please see the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/covid19\/\">COVID-19 Resources Page<\/a>. Spring instruction is primarily occurring remotely, but if you need to come to campus for anything, be sure to use the health assessment forms on the link above. These forms help with contact tracing, and also alert custodial and public safety about which areas are in use each day.&nbsp; You are required to fill out the Campus Check-in form prior to your campus visit.&nbsp;<em>Remember that you are required to wear a mask and<\/em>&nbsp;<em>do not come to campus if you have any symptoms of COVID-19<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Resources for Students (Technology, Care Funds, Food, etc.)<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In collaboration with Academic Affairs, ITS, Library Services and Student Affairs, the ASG Laptop Loan Program (LLP), is for\u202fregistered&nbsp;Spring&nbsp;2021 students\u202fwho&nbsp;need a laptop device. There\u202fare\u202fa limited number of laptops and they will be available at the first-come, first-serve option by completing the ASG-LLP Laptop Loan Agreement Form by visiting:&nbsp;Student Affairs: ASG \u2013 Laptop Loan Program.&nbsp;<em>Note:\u202fOnce the ASG Laptop Loan Program has reached maximum requests this form will be closed. Please note laptops are requested for one quarter at a time.<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We received round 2 of CARES Act funds and awarded these funds for winter quarter. A requirement of round 2 funding was that students were awarded funds based on their documented exceptional financial need, which is determined on the financial aid application (FAFSA). We notified the students of the availability of funds for winter quarter via a campus email. For additional information, please see the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/studentcentral\/cares-act\/\"><strong>CARES Act website<\/strong><\/a>.&nbsp;<strong>We do expect to award spring quarter as well.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6. Instructor Briefcase: Class Rosters and Grade submissions<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find your class rosters in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctc.edu\/~bellevue\/ibc\/\">Instructor Briefcase<\/a>&nbsp;on Sharepoint.&nbsp;&nbsp;This is also where you submit final grades at the end of the quarter. Grades are due by June 28.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8. Online Test Proctoring<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once again in in&nbsp;Spring&nbsp;you will have access to the test monitoring tools \u2013\u202f<em>Respondus&nbsp;Monitor<\/em>,\u202f<em>Respondus&nbsp;Lockdown Browser<\/em>, and\u202f<em>Honorlock<\/em>. These are available in your Canvas shell.&nbsp;You are encouraged to be conscious of student technology restrictions and privacy concerns and to only use online proctoring software when it is the best or only option.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9. Canvas Support and Resources for Remote Learning&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The eLearning team will continue to host our popular&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/elearningfaculty\/contact-us\/\">walk-in Canvas support hours<\/a>&nbsp;during Spring Quarter. Instructional Designers will assist with online questions from 11am to 3pm. Another easy way of connecting with us is by sending us a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.bellevuecollege.edu\/requestcenter\/TaskSelection.aspx?CategoryID=496\">Request Center ticket<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For&nbsp;faculty, we offer in-depth workshops such as:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/elearningfaculty\/canvas-101-teaching-with-canvas\/\">Canvas 101: Teaching with Canvas<\/a>. Visit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/elearningfaculty\/workshops\/\">Faculty&nbsp;Workshops<\/a>&nbsp;page to learn what is being offered this quarter and beyond.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For students, eLearning offers the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/elearning\/current\/online-student-canvas-workshop\/\">Online 4 day workshop<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/elearning\/current\/walkin-student-canvas-workshop\/\">60 minute Canvas Live sessions<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/elearning\/current\/student-canvas-training\/\">Drop-in trainings<\/a>&nbsp;during Spring Quarter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally,&nbsp;the Peer-to-Peer program for having your online class reviewed has been extended through the summer. Faculty&nbsp;are now eligible to receive up to 21 hours of pay to work with E-Learning to review and improve up to 3 online\/remote Canvas courses between November 2020 and August 2021. More information can be found about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/elearningfaculty\/the-peer-to-peer-course-design-project\/\">Peer-to-Peer Course Design Project here<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10.&nbsp;Faculty&nbsp;Commons&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This spring, the&nbsp;Faculty&nbsp;Commons is proud to be able to bring you all the types of support we have in past, but online! We are running a number of offerings to engage you in antiracism and cultural responsiveness work. We have revised our teaching, learning, and assessment workshops to focus on online and remote instruction. We included shorter sessions designed to engage you and leave you with concrete practices to support and engage your students. We have brand new community building and wellness offerings ideal for our time of Covid protocols. We are also offering advocacy, mentoring, administrators\u2019 office hours and lead drop-in support hours! We\u2019ve got it all.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/facultycommons\/\">Please go to our website<\/a>&nbsp;for specific information, and be sure to read our weekly&nbsp;emails for the latest.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11. RISE Opportunities&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/rise\/faculty\/\">The&nbsp;RISE&nbsp;Learning Institute<\/a>&nbsp;is a hub for experiential learning at BC.&nbsp;&nbsp;RISE&nbsp;supports faculty in many ways, including 1:1 consultations, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/rise\/faculty\/award\/\">Provost\u2019s Award for Innovation and Equity<\/a>, and a wide range of workshops. &nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/rise\/faculty\/spring2021\/\">Its Spring Quarter offerings<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;include faculty panels, visioning and planning roundtables, and 30-minute micro-workshops on reflection.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>12. CTCLink Training&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In preparation of the coming storm of ctcLink (which replaces the beloved 1970\u2019s HP system) all employees, including faculty are required by the SBCTC to complete training. Training is divided into three categories:&nbsp;&nbsp;All faculty must complete Tier 1. We&nbsp;are&nbsp;also requiring&nbsp;full-time faculty complete Tier 2 training&nbsp;in order&nbsp;to support their programs&nbsp;(optional for part-time faculty).&nbsp;Supplemental&nbsp;training&nbsp;may&nbsp;be required for specific groups&nbsp;in the future&nbsp;but at this point&nbsp;is&nbsp;optional&nbsp;for all faculty.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All faculty may complete the&nbsp;following courses at their own pace. Time will be provided during the April 22<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;College Issues Day to complete this work, but training is asynchronous&nbsp;and&nbsp;all faculty&nbsp;are welcome to complete the training&nbsp;any time&nbsp;between now and&nbsp;May 3, 2021.&nbsp;&nbsp;You may self-register for training at the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbctc.edu\/colleges-staff\/it-support\/ctclink\/implementation-phase-canvas-registration.aspx\">SBCTC self-registration portal<\/a>. Emergency and Campus Closure Information&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Information about what to do in the case of an emergency can be found on the\u202fPublic Safety Emergency Procedures website. If you have not already done so, be sure to sign up for the\u202fBC Emergency Alerts\u202fto receive a text message alert in the event of an emergency.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>14. DRC Accommodations<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please look over any Letters of Accommodation for Spring Quarter- DRC staff are available to answer questions about accommodations (staff name can be found on the letter, staff contact information is also available&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/drc\/drc-staff\/\">here<\/a>). Information about remote learning accommodations can be found on DRC&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/drc\/spring-2020-remote-learning\/\">remote learning webpage<\/a>. We now have&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.bellevuecollege.edu\/drc\/faculty-testing-form\/\">web forms<\/a>&nbsp;to request assistance with testing available on our remote learning page under Testing. Please fill this out if you will need assistance with meeting a student\u2019s testing accommodations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>15.<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Report Concerns \u2013 academic, behavioral, mental health, Title IX, etc.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/reportconcerns\/\">Report Concerns form<\/a>&nbsp;to report any of the following information.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Academic dishonesty or misconduct including plagiarism and cheating&nbsp;<\/li><li>Bias incidents or hate crimes&nbsp;<\/li><li>Concerning, worrisome or threatening behavior&nbsp;<\/li><li>Relationship violence, sexual misconduct, or stalking&nbsp;<\/li><li>Student conduct violations&nbsp;<\/li><li>Child abuse&nbsp;<\/li><li>Environmental health and safety concerns&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on what you are reporting, it will be forwarded for the appropriate team who will follow up on the concern.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16. Academic Success Center&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Academic Success Center (ASC) is offering&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/asc\/tutoring\/e-tutoring\/online-tutoring-options\/\">online tutoring<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/asc\/workshops\/\">academic workshops<\/a>&nbsp;throughout spring quarter! Our spring hours are: Monday through Thursday: 8:00 am \u2013 8:00 pm; Friday: 8:00 am \u2013 3:30 pm; Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 am \u2013 4:00 pm.
