Useful tools for completing SLOA for BC Programs:<\/strong> Disciplines and programs are responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive student learning outcomes assessment (SLOA) plan.\u00a0 This cycle will be developed individually for each discipline or program based on their resources and needs.\u00a0 A discipline\/program will work with program chairs and deans to determine what is reasonable to accomplish within a given time frame.<\/p>\n The discipline\/program will\u2026<\/p>\n 1.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Set up a schedule to assess all courses on a 3 year cycle. This schedule includes the timeline for accomplishing the assessment work, and may identify the responsibilities of specific faculty in the program\/discipline, and the resources required to carry out the work (part-time faculty grants, etc.)<\/p>\n 2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Design an assessment or use\/edit an existing assessment.\u00a0 For each course, choose an important course\/program outcome. Contact faculty who will participate with enough lead time. Use the assessment:\u00a0 Collect and score student work.\u00a0 Analyze and document assessment results.\u00a0\u00a0 Generate recommendations for the next iteration of assessing that course.\u00a0 (Example: Revise the assessment process or tool if necessary or assess another outcome.)<\/p>\n 3.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Document the assessment process.\u00a0 Store raw student data and analyses.
