Question of the Week: Governance or Management?

The Reinventing Governance Task Force has considered the differences between governance–significant decisions that require broad input and consensus–and management–day to day operational decisions that can be made according to established processes.

Based on your experience, what are someĀ current or recent examples of decisions that could be considered governance and what are someĀ current or recent examples of decisions that could be considered management?

  1. A recent decision and rumors that have followed regarding smoke huts being removed and rumored to be all completely removed should be done by the governance. For me this is important enough that I could be considering finding another job somewhere else if all smoke huts are removed. There needs to be a simple way that I can express my concerns and also there needs to be more of an open forum for things that directly affect students and staff!
