CHOP SHOP: Bodies of Work Contemporary Dance Festival, Stage Fright Student Drama and StoneDance Productions are proud to offer two FREE community classes! These unique classes serve as companion events to the CHOP SHOP Contemporary Dance Festival through education and experience.
◊ Reading Dance (12 – 1 p.m.) is an engaging lecture/demonstration format with dancers from The Stone Dance Collective and Artistic Director Eva Stone. This lecture demystifies and reveals the creative process of how a contemporary dance is made. Attendees discover the type of movement language contemporary dance uses, learn how a dance piece is formed, and are able to ask questions of the choreographer and ◊
◊ Introduction to Modern Dance (1 – 2 p.m.) with Eva Stone is a free dance technique class for those interested in learning basic modern dance movement. No experience necessary! Open to ages 8 to adult. Please come in comfortable clothing.
