Plastic bags for plarn FEB. 12-16. Contribute plastic bags for Earth Week plarn (plastic yarn) bedrolls. Please ask your students to each bring 5-10 plastic bags (grocery is best, and non-torn).  Bring these plastic bags to R230 this week to be collected by RISE for this large-scale service project.  These bedrolls serve as a layer of protection between the ground and sleeping bags, something much needed for people living on the streets.  It can take 500-700 plastic bags to make a single bedroll.

◊ If you’d be willing to take 10 minutes out of a class period in late-February/early-March, project coordinators can also come to your class and teach your students how to make plarn. For the larger number of bedrolls (past the test bedroll), plarn-making will be built into Earth Week.  For more information, contact Amber NicholsonSubmitted by Sajonna Sletten
