SUNDAY, March 8 | Brace yourself, here we go again. Happiest day of the entire year! (Said no one ever). It’s getting close to that that time again to spring forward one hour! Yes, it’s true. Just a reminder that we are nearing zombie week and to prepare moving all of the clocks one hour ahead before you retire for the evening on Saturday, March 7. Yep, really looking forward to losing that one hour of sleep. P.S. This falls on the week before finals.

FRIENDLY REMINDER OF “SCENT FREE” POLICY
In response to health concerns, Arts & Humanities has developed a Scent-Free Policy. Scented products such as hairspray, perfume and deodorant can trigger reactions such as respiratory distress and headaches. Instructors, students, staff and visitors are asked to not use these products when visiting the A&H office. Arts & Humanities at Bellevue College is a Scent-free environment. Remember, what seems like a light application to you can bring on a situation where someone is put into serious distress. Please be mindful. The biggest culprit is “perfume.” Please read more

If you are continuing to use a syllabus from five years ago, and not updating the links, you could be possibly be giving students outdated information. Please keep in mind that the template itself is not totally ADA compliant. ** Please be sure to update the attendance policy to correspond with the new language in Attendance Expectations for Hybrid & In-Person Classes

NOW through DEC. 6 | CARLOS PALOMARES “Grabador” EXHIBITION | Bob Purser Art Gallery | The Bob Purser Art Gallery is excited to present a solo exhibition by Mexican printmaker Carolos Palomares. Carlos’ relief prints on paper speak to the history of relief printmaking in Mexican culture. Some of the subjects in the exhibited works are personal in theme and represent people, animals, and plants that surround Carlos and are part of his daily life in the “Altiplano” area of the Mexican state of San Luis Potosi. Please visit the Bob Purser Art Gallery web site to read more information about the exhibit and times the gallery is open to view this grand exhibit.
Comments from Jono Vaughan – “We are also playing a documentary on the famous Mexican printmaking movement, Taller de Gráphica Popular or TGP. Didactics are in both English and Spanish, so it offers a great chance for Spanish courses to learn about Mexican printmaking and culture. It is also an excellent chance for all faculty to present students with an opportunity to connect with a culture that is currently experiencing tremendous pressure from the Federal Government. This is really a strong show and I want everyone to see it before Dec. 6th. Gallery hours on the website are accurate for drop ins. Or faculty can reach out to me for an appointment if they want a guided tour.”
