NewsTalk
is a workshop series for ELI students where they can learn different reading skills like paraphrasing and finding the main idea.  Together, we will then practice applying these skills to our news stories.  The students can also develop their speaking skills by contributing to the discussions as they share their thoughts and reactions to each story with the group.  Ask the instructors and/or tutors for more information!  Hope to see you there!

Congratulations

English instructor, Elisabeth Kraus, was recently honored to contribute a chapter to a book entitled Teacher, Mother, Scholar: Reenvisioning Motherhood in the Academy. The book was published in October, and was featured December 2015 in Inside Higher Ed.  The article mentions Elisabeth by name, and references that she teaches for Bellevue College. Congratulations Congratulations to Bellevue College Theatre Arts students Charlie Schuster & Jennifer LoschenCharlie’s 10-Minute play, Under the Bed has been chosen as a semi-finalist to be showcased at the KCACTF Region VII Conference taking place in Denver in February of 2016.  Jennifer’s one Act event, “The Flock,” has also been chosen to be showcased at the same conference.  “Congratulations!” to Elena Hartwell, our Playwriting Instructor!!
